About BrightWren
BrightWren is a free educational website that provides KS2 maths practice for children in Years 3 to 6 in England, following the National Curriculum. It is made by Not Another Studio Ltd, a small studio in the United Kingdom building learning tools for children.
Every question follows the England National Curriculum for Key Stage 2 maths, from place value and times tables to fractions, telling the time, shape and more. The questions are made fresh each time, so children can practise a topic as much as they like without running out, and each one comes with a plain-English hint when an answer is not quite right.
The maths practice on this site is free, with no account and no sign-up, and there are free tools for the classroom too. For families who want to go further there is BrightWren Maths, an app that saves each child's progress and chooses what they practise next, in a free beta for the families we invite. Story-led apps, where the maths is part of the adventure, are on the way, and some will be paid.
We build with children's privacy in mind. The free practice keeps nothing that says who a child is. The app asks a grown-up for an email to sign in, and keeps what each child practises so it can choose the right questions. The privacy page has the details.
