Privacy
For children: you can use this site to practise maths, and we do not collect anything about you. Your computer remembers how you are getting on so the questions stay at the right level, but that stays on your device and is never sent to us.
For grown-ups: the free maths practice runs entirely in the browser and collects no personal data about children. The only personal data we ever hold is an email address, and only if an adult chooses to give one to hear about a launch. We set no advertising cookies and use no third-party trackers.
Who we are
BrightWren is made by Not Another Studio Ltd, a small studio in the United Kingdom. We are responsible for the personal data described on this page (the data controller). If you have a question about your data, or want it removed, email us at privacy@brightwren.co.uk.
What we collect, and why
Practising maths
Nothing leaves your device. The questions are made in your browser. Your device remembers your practice level for each topic, and any mistake reports you have started, so the site works smoothly next time. That information stays in your browser and is never sent to us.
If you join an email list
On the Apps and Classroom pages, a grown-up can leave an email address to be told when something launches. If you do, we store that email address, along with which list you joined and basic technical information such as your browser type. We use it only to send you that one update, and nothing else. It is meant for adults, not children, and you can ask us to remove it at any time.
If you report a mistake
The "spot a mistake?" button lets you flag a question or a piece of writing so we can fix it. We store the details of the report, which question or page it was and any note you add, plus basic technical information such as your browser type. It does not ask for, and we do not want, your name or email here.
Visitor numbers
We use a privacy-friendly analytics tool to count page visits, so we can see which parts of the site are useful. It uses no cookies and collects nothing that could identify you or any child.
Cookies
We use no cookies for advertising or tracking. To remember your practice level, the site uses your browser's local storage. That is similar to a cookie, but it never leaves your device and is not shared with anyone.
Children's privacy
This site is built with children's privacy in mind. The free practice needs no account, no sign-up, and collects no personal data about children. The optional email lists are for grown-ups, such as parents, carers and teachers, not for children.
Who can see the data, and where it is kept
We do not sell your data, and we do not share it for advertising. The email addresses and mistake reports above are stored for us by our database provider, on servers in the European Union, and the site is hosted by our hosting provider. They only process the data on our behalf.
How long we keep it
We keep an email address until you ask us to remove it, or until the launch you signed up for has happened and you no longer want to hear from us. We keep mistake reports for as long as they are useful for fixing problems.
Your rights
You can ask us to show you the personal data we hold about you, correct it, or delete it. Just email privacy@brightwren.co.uk and we will sort it out.
Changes to this notice
If we change how we handle data, we will update this page. Last updated: June 2026.
