Autumn term By the autumn term, Year 3 children are usually working on place value to 1000, reading and comparing numbers, and adding and subtracting numbers up to three digits. Spring term By the spring term, Year 3 children are usually working on the 3, 4 and 8 times tables and division, solving multiplication problems, and starting to understand fractions. Summer term now By the summer term, Year 3 children are usually working on more fractions, measuring length, mass, capacity, money and time, the properties of shapes, lines and angles, and reading charts.
